PSA: Spring Record Fair (Brooklyn Flea) - May 4, 2013

The Spring 2013 edition of the Brooklyn Flea Record Fair is just around the corner, and with 50 vendors, an all-star DJ lineup curated by Red Bull Music Academy, and the return of Dogfish Head Craft Brewed Ales—plus Smorgasburg—it's a doozy.
In addition to the 50 collectors, shops, and record labels, we'll have a small stage featuring the best music you've ever shopped to: DJ /rupture (Dutty Artz), James Friedman (Throne of Blood), James Pants, Veronica Vasicka (Minimal Wave), Dan Selzer (Acute Records), and Dean Bein (True Panther)—all of whom will take a break from selling records at their label tables to spin a few. (See below for a list of some of the goodies that vendors are pulling out special for the record fair.)
Located inside Smorgasburg, the spring Record Fair (stay tuned for the fall date) will be located just a feet away from all the tasty treats and beverages the food market has to offer—as well as a special visit from Delaware's Dogfish Head Craft Brewed Ales, which will be providing three of their finest seasonal beers just for the day.
Hours are 11am-6pm, adjacent to Smorgasburg inside East River State Park, at Kent Avenue and North 7th St. in Williamsburg. To get first pick at records and grub, we recommend arriving on the early side. Entry is free.

Richie Havens - Back To My Roots (Original 12 inch Version 1980)

Folk singer Richie Havens, the opening act at the 1969 Woodstock music festival, died today of a sudden heart attack.  He was 72.

A few days ago, I posted FPI Project's 'Rich In Paradise', which took liberal inspiration from the above.
