First heard this track in the super awesome Kiss FM mix by Slacker back in early 2002. You can get a copy of that mix here.

Saveur Magazine - Sandwich Stories: Pastrami on Rye
One of my favorite sandwiches in NYC. As Manager Steven Cohen says, "It's a microcosm of what's right in the world".

Modest Mouse - Float On
A nice song for a nice day:
I backed my car into a cop car, the other day.
Well he just drove off, sometimes life's ok.
I ran my mouth off a bit too much, oh what did I say.
Well you just laughed it off, it was all ok.
And we'll all float on, ok.
And we'll all float on, ok.
And we'll all float on, ok.
And we'll all float on any way, well.
A fake Jamaican took every last dime with a scam.
It was worth it just to learn some sleight-of-hand.
Bad news comes don't you worry even when it lands.
Good news will work its way to all them plans.
We both got fired on exactly the same day.
Well we'll float on good news is on the way.
And we'll all float on, ok.
And we'll all float on, ok.
And we'll all float on, ok.
And we'll all float on, alright.
Already we'll all float on.
No, don't you worry, we'll all float on.
Alright, already, we'll all float on.
Alright, don't worry, we'll all float on.
Alright already we'll all float on.
Alright already we'll all float on.
Alright don't worry even if things end up a bit too heavy.
We'll all float on...alright. Already we'll all float on.
Alright already we'll all float on, ok.
Don't worry we'll all float on.
Even if things get heavy, we'll all float on.
Alright already we'll all float on.
(Alright)
Don't you worry we'll all float on.
(Alright)
All float on....

The Voice Project: DJ Spooky + Joshua Roman » Radiohead - Everything in Its Right Place
Via The Voice Project:
Went for dinner with Paul and had a great talk about the ways electronic musicians around the world are collaborating, influencing and amplifying each other over the Web as well as finding new voices in the very design of the tools they are using. Paul's been a force pushing the boundaries of experimental music and conceptual art in New York since the mid-90's and continues to push down the boundaries between different traditional genres, has collaborated with everyone from Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore to Yoko Ono, and is a professor at the European Graduate School in Switzerland where he teaches Music Mediated Art...
So basically we were pretty excited to see what kind of creative direction he would take a TVP episode. We set a date to meet up at his Tribeca rehearsal space and got treated to this. Many thanks to Paul and Josh for lending their voices to the cause.

Hot Lips Page - Rockin at Ryan's
A somewhat forgotten jazz trumpeter, Oran Alfred Page aka Hot Lips Page, really knew how to blow that horn:

Inside David Chang's Secret Momofuku Test Kitchen
Via Eater:
Last fall we shared the news that Momofuku's David Chang had recently opened up a private test kitchen to give his team a space to experiment with new techniques and come up with new dishes and ideas. Or as Chang explains, "It's really just a place where we catalog mistakes."
Late Night with Jimmy Fallon brings cameras in for the first time to take a look around at the space and gets a peek at the MomoLab's current experiments. See the full clip above, in which Chang explains his goals to figure out what "American food" really is, to make as many things in house—think hams—as possible, and to someday get out of the food biz altogether an open a distillery.
